**Genesis 31:27** โ€” *"Why did you run away secretly and deceive me, without even telling me? I would have sent you away with joy and singing, with tambourines and harps."*

Laban's words to Jacob carry a sting โ€” not because they are entirely honest, but because they are *partially* true. Jacob fled in fear of a man who had cheated him repeatedly. Yet even here, in a flawed and complicated covenant relationship, there was a path toward departure *with dignity* rather than in shadows.

How often do we exit โ€” a relationship, a season, a calling โ€” through the back door, when grace might have permitted a proper farewell?

Scripture reminds us that God is a God of *covenantal* order. Even difficult endings can be walked through with integrity, honesty, and the mercy we owe one another as kindred.

Consider the exits you are approaching. By grace, they need not be silent escapes โ€” they can be faithful farewells.
