**Malachi 2:5** โ€” *"My covenant with him was one of life and peace, which I gave to him; it called for reverence, and he revered Me and stood in awe of My name."*

Levi didn't earn this covenant โ€” he received it. Life and peace, given first. Reverence followed as a *response*, not a requirement.

This is the order Scripture consistently upholds. Grace precedes obligation. God extends the covenant; the faithful steward walks into it with awe already kindled by the gift itself.

Consider the priest who served generation after generation โ€” not grinding through duty, but abiding in wonder at a Name too weighty to treat casually. That awe was not fear of punishment. It was the natural posture of someone who had truly received something they could not manufacture themselves.

By grace, we have been given the same โ€” life and peace through Christ, the better covenant.

Let the weight of that gift shape how you dwell in it today.
