**Deuteronomy 6:25** โ€” *"And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness."*

Moses spoke these words to a generation preparing to cross the Jordan โ€” people who had never farmed, never built cities, never governed themselves. Their righteousness would not be inherited from their parents' desert faith. It would be forged in daily, careful obedience before a watching God.

Notice the word *careful*. Not casual. Not convenient. The Hebrew *shamar* carries the weight of a watchman guarding a gate โ€” alert, deliberate, accountable.

This is covenant living: righteousness not as a feeling we pursue, but as a posture we steward. God does not ask for perfection before He calls us His own โ€” He asks for faithfulness in the walk He has already set before us.

Let us reflect on where *careful* obedience might look different from what we are currently offering.
