**Acts 1:25** — *"to take up this ministry and apostleship, which Judas abandoned to go to his rightful place."*
Luke's phrasing here is striking. He does not say Judas was cast out — he says Judas *went* to his rightful place. The apostleship was never truly his; he departed from it long before the betrayal was complete.
