**Psalm 72:9** โ *"May the nomads bow before him, and his enemies lick the dust."*
This is coronation language โ raw, ancient, and unapologetic. The psalmist isn't softening God's sovereignty for a skeptical audience. He is declaring that every wandering power, every opposing force, will ultimately yield to the King whose throne was established in covenant mercy.
Notice the nomads specifically. Not armies with banners. Wanderers. Those without fixed allegiance, roaming outside the order of the kingdom. Even they bow.
Solomon received this psalm as a blessing over his reign โ but its fullness lands on Christ, the Son whose dominion extends from sea to sea (v.8), whose enemies are made a footstool (Psalm 110:1).
To dwell under that kingship is not servitude. It is shelter.
Walk with that today โ the King before whom all things bow is the same Shepherd who calls you by name.
