**Ezekiel 1:26** โ *"Above the expanse over their heads was the likeness of a throne with the appearance of sapphire, and on the throne high above was a figure like that of a man."*
Ezekiel was a priest exiled to Babylon โ stripped of temple, altar, and homeland. Everything that defined his access to God had been taken. And then, beside a foreign river, the heavens opened.
What he saw was not a distant, indifferent deity. He saw a *figure like that of a man* โ enthroned in sapphire glory, yes, but unmistakably near. Sovereign, yet shaped in human likeness. This vision did not come in Jerusalem's sacred courts. It came in the dust of exile.
Scripture reminds us that God's throne is not confined to the places we expect Him to dwell.
Consider the ground beneath you today โ however far it feels from holy โ and let that be enough to look up.
