**Jeremiah 35:14** โ *"The words of Jonadab son of Rechab have been carried out. He commanded his sons not to drink wine, and they have not drunk it to this very day because they have obeyed the command of their forefather. But I have spoken to you again and again, and you have not obeyed Me!"*
The Rechabites never met God. They obeyed a man โ faithfully, for generations.
God's people had walked with the living Lord, heard His voice through prophets, witnessed covenant after covenant โ and still turned away.
Scripture reminds us that obedience is not merely knowing the source of a command. It is the daily, embodied choice to honor it. The Rechabites had no burning bush, no parted sea. They had a father's word โ and they kept it.
Consider the weight of that contrast. We carry the full counsel of God, the indwelling Spirit, the finished work of Christ.
Let us walk worthy of what we have been given.
