**Psalms 17:9** โ€” *"from the wicked who assail me, from my mortal enemies who surround me."*

David wrote this from inside the circle โ€” not looking at danger from a distance, but surrounded by it. This is a man pressed on every side, and yet his posture is not panic. It is petition.

Notice what he does not do: he does not reach for a sword first. He reaches for the Lord.

There is a kind of faith that only forms under siege โ€” the kind that learns to abide in God's shelter not as a last resort, but as a first covenant instinct. David's enemies were real. His fear was real. And so was his Shepherd.

Walk with that truth today. When the circle tightens around you โ€” and it will โ€” let it drive you inward toward the One who neither slumbers nor surrounds you with anything less than mercy.

Let us reflect on where we run first.
