**2 Peter 1:10** โ€” *"Therefore, brothers, strive to make your calling and election sure. For if you practice these things you will never stumble."*

Peter wrote this from the shadow of his own stumbling โ€” the courtyard fire, the three denials, the bitter weeping. He knew what it cost to lose footing.

Notice he does not say *discover* your calling. He says *make it sure* โ€” a craftsman's word, the work of reinforcing what already stands. Election is not in question here. Assurance is.

The preceding verses list virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, love. These are not the ladder to God's favor. They are the evidence that the ladder has already been placed.

Walk in them. Dwell in them. Let them become the texture of your days.

Scripture reminds us that a life shaped by these disciplines does not drift โ€” it holds. Not by striving to earn, but by stewarding what grace has already given.

Let us reflect on what we are reinforcing today.
