**Job 19:16** โ€” *"I call for my servant, but he does not answer, though I implore him with my own mouth."*

Job speaks these words from the ash heap โ€” stripped of wealth, health, and household. Even those bound to him by covenant obligation have gone silent. His own servant will not lift his eyes.

There is a particular grief in unanswered calling. Not the silence of strangers, but the silence of those who *knew* you โ€” who ate at your table, who walked your land.

And yet, Job does not stop speaking. He cries to his servant. He will cry to his Redeemer (v. 25). The man who receives no answer *becomes* the man who declares, *"I know that my Redeemer lives."*

Suffering did not seal Job's mouth. It refined his address โ€” until he spoke past every silent servant and found the One who always answers.

Let us reflect on who we cry to when every familiar voice goes still.
