**Isaiah 1:22** โ *"Your silver has become dross; your fine wine is diluted with water."*
The goldsmith knows dross immediately โ it floats to the surface when heat is applied. God is saying the same to Judah: what once had weight and purity has been compromised, not by sudden collapse, but by gradual dilution.
This is the slow corruption worth examining. Not the dramatic fall, but the quiet watering-down โ of conviction, of covenant faithfulness, of the steward who once gave his full measure and now gives just enough.
Silver doesn't become dross overnight. Wine doesn't thin itself.
The prophet's rebuke is also an invitation: return to what was genuine before the compromise crept in. Mercy, justice, the weightier things โ these were the original ore.
Walk with the Lord long enough, and He will show you where the dilution began.
*Let us reflect on what we have allowed to thin.*
