**Ezekiel 21:5** โ€” *"Then all flesh will know that I, the LORD, have taken My sword from its sheath, not to return it again."*

There is a moment in Ezekiel's vision when God's patience reaches its appointed end โ€” not in rage, but in sovereign resolve. The sword drawn here is not impulsive. It is covenantal. Israel had been warned, pleaded with, wooed back through prophets and mercy across generations.

This verse confronts something we quietly resist: the God of grace is also the God of holy judgment. Mercy delayed is not mercy abandoned โ€” but neither does it last without limit.

The Apostle Paul echoes this tension in Romans 2:4 โ€” *"the riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience"* are meant to lead us toward repentance, not presumption.

Walk with that weight today. The God who sheathes His sword in patience also calls us to respond โ€” while the sheath remains.
