**Revelation 17:13** β€” *"These kings have one purpose: to yield their power and authority to the beast."*

Unified surrender. Not to a covenant Lord, not to a shepherd who lays down his life β€” but to a beast who consumes it.

This verse arrests me with its precision. These kings are not coerced. They *yield*. Willingly. Collectively. With singular devotion. The Greek *didōsin* carries the weight of a deliberate gift β€” power handed over, not stolen.

And here is the pastoral edge: what we yield ourselves to reveals what we truly worship. Pharaoh yielded to pride. Judas to silver. These kings to dominion itself.

By grace, we are called to a different surrender β€” the one Paul describes in Romans 12:1, offering ourselves as *living sacrifices*, holy and pleasing to God.

Walk with that contrast today. One surrender leads to the beast. The other leads home.

Consider the altar you are building with your daily choices.
