**John 18:33** โ€” *"Pilate went back into the Praetorium, summoned Jesus, and asked Him, 'Are You the King of the Jews?'"*

Pilate asks the right question for entirely the wrong reasons. He is fishing for political sedition โ€” a charge he can file, a threat he can neutralize. Yet standing before him is the answer to every question humanity has ever asked about power, authority, and mercy.

Consider the irony: the one who holds Rome's authority in Judea cannot recognize the Author of all authority when He stands in the room.

This moment is not merely historical drama. It is a mirror. We too can ask correct theological questions while remaining unmoved by their weight โ€” reciting creeds, citing scripture, yet keeping Christ at arm's length like a matter to be processed rather than a King to be received.

Scripture reminds us that confessing His kingship is not an intellectual exercise. It is an act of surrender โ€” and the beginning of true freedom.

Walk with that today.
