**Exodus 9:28** โ€” *"Pray to the LORD, for there has been enough of God's thunder and hail. I will let you go; you do not need to stay any longer."*

Pharaoh's words sound like repentance. They carry the right vocabulary โ€” acknowledgment of God's power, a promise of release, a plea for mercy. Yet Scripture reminds us that this was capitulation under pressure, not covenant transformation of the heart. The moment Moses withdrew his hand and the storm ceased, Pharaoh hardened again.

There is a mercy in recognizing the difference between a soul broken *toward* God and a will merely bent by circumstance. True repentance does not evaporate when the thunder fades.

Walk with this today: the storms God permits are not punishments to escape โ€” they are invitations to abide. Pharaoh wanted relief from the hail. Moses wanted reconciliation with the Lord.

Consider the difference between seeking God's hand and seeking His face.
