Shohei Ohtani is back and he is making noise in Los Angeles. The two-way superstar went deep twice Monday night, jolting the Dodgers offense back to life and giving the club exactly what they needed heading into the stretch. Just as important, Ohtani's knee is reportedly feeling good after his latest bullpen session, which has to have Dodger fans breathing a whole lot easier.
Over in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers ownership situation is getting messy fast. Jeanie Buss is pushing back hard against her siblings' plan to sell the family's remaining seventeen point eight percent stake to Bob Iger and Josh Kushner. She wants to stay in control, and this family dispute is now playing out in the open for one of the most valuable franchises in professional sports.
Meanwhile on the transfer front, Julian Alvarez is available and Atletico Madrid is ready to move on from the Argentine striker this summer. There is one catch though — Atletico will do just about anything to keep him out of Barcelona's hands. With the twenty-six-year-old eager to leave, this one is moving fast and the destination is going to matter enormously.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
