Welcome to Markets Desk, here's what's moving right now.
The long end of the Treasury market is flashing a warning sign that's hard to ignore. The thirty-year yield has climbed above five point three one percent, its highest level in nineteen years, as traders position ahead of this week's FOMC minutes and demand for duration continues to erode under persistent inflation pressure.
Staying with assets on the move, coffee markets are surging this session. September arabica futures hit a six-week high, up nearly three and a half percent, while robusta is gaining over two and a half percent. The catalyst is Brazil's harvest, which is running well behind pace, tightening near-term supply and sending traders scrambling for coverage.
And in dealmaking, Paramount has agreed to delay its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery until as late as June twenty twenty seven, while a coalition of state attorneys general takes the matter to trial. To hold that agreement in place, Paramount is seeking a one point eight eight billion dollar bond from those same AGs to cover the costs of the extended waiting period, an unusual ask that signals just how complicated this regulatory fight has become.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
