Chicago's AL Central lead is now three and a half games, with Detroit in second and the Guardians and Twins both four back.
Out in Phoenix, gymnastics has a new champion. Hezly Rivera came from behind to claim the all-around title at the two thousand twenty-six U.S. Championships, holding off a fierce challenge from teammate Claire Pease in what by all accounts was one of the tightest finishes the nationals have seen in years. Rivera's second U.S. title, and she earned every point of it.
And over at Fenway Park, Oakland's Jacob Wilson quietly made history. The twenty-four-year-old shortstop played his one hundred eleventh consecutive errorless game, breaking the all-time record for the position previously held by Mike Bordick, who ran off one hundred ten straight back in two thousand two. Clean glove, big moment, and most people barely noticed — which is exactly how a shortstop likes it.
