Soymeal and soy oil both followed lower, leaving the complex broadly under pressure heading into Thursday's USDA data.
The wheat market told a different story. Chicago soft red winter and Kansas City hard red winter contracts both finished higher, with KC gaining as much as fourteen cents on the session. Minneapolis spring wheat was the outlier, with front months slipping — a split tape that reflects regional supply dynamics more than any single macro driver.
Turning to equities, the S&P five hundred's sharp five-day rally is drawing scrutiny from analysts who say the move has been driven more by options mechanics than by any genuine shift in fundamentals. Dealers hedging short gamma positions were effectively forced to buy futures as the index climbed, amplifying the move. That kind of positioning-driven rally can reverse quickly once the options flow exhausts itself, which is a reason for investors to treat this bounce with some discipline.
