Good evening and welcome to Markets Desk.
Apple has reclaimed the title of world's largest company by market capitalization, surpassing Nvidia after more than a year out of the top spot. The shift reflects renewed investor confidence in Apple's long-term positioning, even as Nvidia continues to dominate the AI infrastructure conversation. Analysts see room for further upside from here.
Speaking of AI infrastructure, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is making a pointed argument about where the next wave of high-paying jobs will actually emerge. Huang says a significant number of six-figure opportunities in plumbing, electrical work, and construction will open up as the buildout of AI data centers accelerates across the country, a direct challenge to the assumption that tech prosperity flows only to white-collar workers.
On the connectivity side of that same AI buildout, investors are weighing Astera Labs against Arista Networks heading into two thousand twenty six. Astera provides mission-critical chips that keep data centers running at scale and recently crossed into profitability, while Arista brings a more established networking franchise. The question for portfolio managers is whether emerging leverage to AI spending outweighs the comfort of a proven operator.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
