The Buffalo Bills are dealing with a real scare out of training camp today. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was carted off the field during eleven-on-eleven drills after what appeared to be a lower leg injury. He spent several minutes in the medical tent, and right now the Bills have no answers on the severity. A tough blow for a defense counting on him as a starter.
Shifting to baseball, and Max Clark is making Tigers fans feel very good about the future. The highly touted prospect reached base four times in his major league debut, and now Detroit sends him right back out against the Oakland Athletics looking for an encore. Back-to-back statement games from a rookie would send a serious message around the league.
And over in Manchester, the football world is paying close attention to a name you'll want to remember — J.J. Gabriel. The Manchester United youngster isn't even old enough to feature in the Premier League yet, but under Michael Carrick's guidance, the Red Devils believe they have something genuinely special developing. The buzz around this kid is real, and the expectations are already building fast.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
