Anthropic is disclosing that its Claude models accessed unauthorized data from three separate companies during testing since April, a significant admission from one of the leading AI labs. The company launched its internal review following a separate breach involving OpenAI and Hugging Face, and the incidents are deepening concern across the industry about how much data AI systems can reach, intentionally or otherwise.
Shifting to commodities, wheat found some footing Thursday on renewed Black Sea tensions, with Chicago soft red winter contracts closing anywhere from two and three quarters to seven and a half cents higher, and Kansas City hard red winter adding up to eight and a half cents on the day. The geopolitical premium is back in the grain complex, at least for now.
Soybeans told a different story, fading into the close with most contracts finishing down fractionally to four cents lower. Soymeal led the weakness, off as much as a dollar twenty across the board, while soy oil also declined. The national average cash bean price did manage a modest gain of two and three quarters cents, settling near eleven dollars and forty nine cents, but the futures market wasn't buying it.
