The right-hander struck out the first seven Colorado Rockies he faced, setting a franchise record, and by the time he was done through five innings he had fanned eleven of the first twelve batters on eighty-three pitches. Historic stuff out of Milwaukee.
Across the Atlantic, nineteen-year-old Luke Littler is rewriting the darts record books in Blackpool. The phenom defended his World Matchplay title with a dominant eighteen to nine victory over Gerwyn Price, and in doing so he shattered Phil Taylor's long-standing tournament and final average records. Only Taylor and Michael van Gerwen had ever won back-to-back Matchplay titles before Littler made it three names on that very short list.
And over at Trent Bridge in the Hundred, it was brother versus brother and the cricket was as good as the storyline. Craig Overton hit a decisive six against his twin Jamie to help Trent Rockets chase down one hundred sixty runs and beat London Spirit by four wickets, with Ben Duckett's seventy-five off forty-seven balls doing the heavy lifting throughout that chase.
