Ferran Torres struck the decisive blow in extra time as Spain defeated Argentina in the two thousand twenty six World Cup final, claiming the nation's second world title. Pedro Porro was among the celebrating heroes, and the party in the Spanish camp is very much still going.
On the other side of that result, Alexis Mac Allister is facing serious scrutiny this morning. The Liverpool midfielder started for Argentina but struggled to impose himself when his side needed leadership most, and when Enzo Fernandez was shown a red card, Mac Allister was left exposed in the middle of the park. Pundits have not been kind.
And Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has a message for Marc Cucurella — pay up. Cucurella apparently promised to tattoo his manager's face on his body if Spain won the World Cup, and de la Fuente is holding him to it, joking he's quote not too ugly.
