Frank Vogel is heading back to the sidelines. The former Lakers championship coach is expected to join Steve Kerr's staff in Golden State as associate head coach, stepping into the vacancy left by Terry Stotts. Vogel brings serious playoff pedigree to a Warriors team looking to rebuild its identity around Kerr.
Shifting to baseball, North Carolina is having a draft to remember. The Diamond Heels landed seven players selected through two days, including four in the top one hundred picks — that's a program first. Jake Schaffner went twentieth overall to the Red Sox, and the pipeline out of Chapel Hill is absolutely humming right now.
And staying in the draft landscape, the New York Mets used the two thousand twenty six class to address a farm system that had slipped all the way to twenty fourth in baseball according to Baseball America. Nineteen players selected, twelve of them pitchers, with seventeen coming out of college programs. New York is clearly playing the long game as trade deadline moves loom on the horizon.
