Speaking of trust in AI pivots, the Financial Times is out with analysis showing that companies rebranding around artificial intelligence have largely failed to sustain their valuation gains. Most of those stock pops faded quickly, which lines up with what we've seen broadly — markets are getting sharper at separating genuine AI integration from narrative window dressing. The multiple you get for saying the word "AI" is compressing.
And turning to travel, the World Cup is delivering real lift for American, Delta, and United Airlines. Delta's CEO called it the best possible advertisement for traveling to the United States. That said, the broader hiring boom FIFA projected — roughly one hundred eighty five thousand full-time equivalent jobs — has largely failed to materialize in leisure and hospitality, suggesting the economic spillover is narrower than the headline numbers implied.
