Cocoa extended its own remarkable run, with New York futures surging nearly seven percent to hit a six-month high. London cocoa touched its highest level in more than nine months. The catalyst was fresh evidence of recovering demand from major consuming regions, suggesting that the supply crunch which hammered prices earlier this year may now be meeting a genuine demand response on the other side.
Meanwhile, a single massive options trade on the Invesco QQQ Trust ETF is drawing attention on the Nasdaq. The trade, which represents the largest single position in the fund seen Thursday, is being read by bulls as a signal that institutional money is positioning for the Nasdaq one hundred to push toward fresh record highs in the near term.
