Anthony Volpe is not holding back. The Yankees shortstop fired back hard at a since-retracted report claiming he refused a position switch to second base, calling it flat-out BS and saying the story caught him completely off guard. The report has been pulled, but Volpe made sure everyone knew exactly where he stood.
Shifting to Tampa Bay, the Rays are sitting five games clear of the Yankees atop the AL East and apparently they're not done building. Their so-called dream trade target is an All-Star, Gold Glove infielder currently with the Houston Astros. If Tampa pulls that off, the AL East race gets a whole lot more interesting down the stretch.
And over at Wimbledon, day eleven is delivering everything you'd want from a major. Coco Gauff steps onto Centre Court for her first-ever women's semifinal at SW19, facing Karolína Muchová. Gauff holds a six to one head-to-head advantage, but semifinal pressure at the All England Club is an entirely different animal.
