Philadelphia is not going quietly. The Seventy-Sixers gutted out a one-oh-six to ninety-three win over Boston on Thursday night, forcing a Game seven that tips off Saturday in the Garden. Tyrese Maxey was the engine, dropping twenty-seven points with twenty-one of those coming before halftime, and Paul George added twenty-three to keep Philly's season breathing.
While that series stays alive, the other first-round matchup in the East is already closed. New York put Atlanta away in the most dominant fashion imaginable, building the largest halftime lead in NBA playoff history — forty-seven points after just twenty-four minutes of basketball. OG Anunoby was the headliner, putting on an absolute showcase as the Knicks punched their ticket to the second round without breaking a sweat.
Shifting to Indianapolis, Caitlin Clark's homecoming at the Fever's preseason opener had everyone buzzing — until it didn't. Clark left the game after a collision with Dallas forward Alanna Smith, sending the crowd into a collective hold-your-breath moment. The good news came quickly though, as Clark said afterward she was feeling fine, and the basketball world exhaled.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
