Good afternoon and welcome to Markets Desk.
Equities are pushing higher this session, with the S&P five hundred up nearly three quarters of a percent and the Nasdaq one hundred leading the charge, climbing over one percent on the back of a broad megacap tech rally. Futures markets are confirming the move, suggesting institutional buyers are leaning in with conviction heading into the close.
Shifting to soft commodities, arabica coffee futures are up one point three seven percent today as heavy rainfall across Minas Gerais in Brazil is disrupting the harvest timeline. Robusta, meanwhile, is moving in the opposite direction, falling over two percent, so the spread between the two contracts is widening notably on the supply disruption narrative.
And on the policy and legal front, the Supreme Court has moved to protect the Federal Reserve's independence, a significant ruling that reinforces the central bank's insulation from political interference. However, the decision drew a sharp distinction, leaving other federal regulatory agencies without the same constitutional shelter, raising real questions about the long-term structural authority of those bodies.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
