Micron delivered a strong quarter, posting revenue and earnings that cleared Wall Street's bar on both lines. For a memory chip maker that spent much of the past two years grinding through an inventory downcycle, beating on the top and bottom line signals that AI-driven demand for high-bandwidth memory is doing real work here.
Shifting to the fast food space, Wendy's shares have caught a bid following back-to-back leadership changes at the top. The company brought in a new chief executive and chief financial officer, both carrying track records of reviving underperforming consumer brands. Markets are reading those appointments as a credible turnaround signal rather than routine reshuffling.
And rounding out the week in commodities, both corn and cotton came under pressure heading into the weekend close. Corn front months shed roughly two to nearly five cents across the week, while cotton dropped more than five hundred points in July contracts alone. A softer dollar provided some cushion, but weak crude and limited precipitation forecasts kept the selling bias intact.
