The drag came squarely from megacap tech and software names, where selling pressure weighed on the Nasdaq one hundred throughout the day.
Nowhere was that pressure more visible than in Salesforce, which extended a truly remarkable losing streak to fourteen consecutive sessions. Investors remain skeptical that the company can translate its AI ambitions into meaningful revenue momentum, and that doubt has been grinding the stock lower day after day with no sign of a floor forming.
Shifting to fixed income, the bond market is flashing some unusual volatility, and analysts say it is not going away. Incoming Fed Chair Kevin Warsh appears comfortable letting bond yields do the heavy lifting on financial conditions, essentially allowing the market to tighten on his behalf rather than reaching for rate hikes. That posture is reshaping how traders price duration risk and Fed expectations heading into the second half of the year.
