You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
At Shinnecock Hills, the two thousand twenty six U.S. Open is heating up and Wyndham Clark is right in the thick of it. Clark holds the lead heading into the final round, and if he can close the door, he joins a very short list of players to win this tournament twice. The pressure at Shinnecock is unlike anywhere else in golf, and Clark has handled it beautifully so far.
Meanwhile, the lightweight division just got a whole lot more interesting. Justin Gaethje pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent UFC memory, knocking off Ilia Topuria to claim the lightweight title, and now he's pumping the brakes on any retirement talk. Gaethje says he's planning to fight again, which means the one hundred fifty five pound division just found itself a very motivated new king.
And over in the WNBA, A'ja Wilson is doing what A'ja Wilson does. The Las Vegas Aces star takes on the Golden State Valkyries tonight, and her march toward a fifth MVP award shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. The Valkyries' defense will be tested, but stopping Wilson right now feels like a nearly impossible assignment for anyone in this league.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
