Turning to commodities, cotton is bucking the broader pressure in the raw materials complex, trading nine to nineteen points higher Monday morning even as crude oil slides three dollars and fifty cents to eighty-four dollars and twenty-one cents a barrel. That kind of divergence is worth watching — it suggests cotton's supply dynamics are overriding the macro drag that's pulling energy and grains lower.
And speaking of grains, corn is feeling that crude pressure directly, posting losses of four to five cents in early Monday trade.
