Shifting to the hardwood, Orlando is making the basketball world take notice. The Magic just went up three to one on the top-seeded Detroit Pistons, grinding out a ninety-four to eighty-eight win despite Detroit's home crowd. Twenty Pistons turnovers led to twenty-three Orlando points, and now Detroit's front office is facing the consequences of standing pat at the trade deadline. Game five is Wednesday, and the pressure is squarely on the one seed.
And in San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama handed Cooper Flagg a welcome-to-the-league moment in Flagg's very first NBA playoff game. Flagg just claimed Rookie of the Year honors, but Wembanyama made clear there are levels to this game that no award ceremony can prepare you for. The kid has a future — just not yet against that guy.
