The lefty, just a second-round pick out of the two thousand twenty four draft, went seven sharp innings against Chicago, surrendering only three hits while striking out five. Nick Kurtz went deep and the A's walked away two to one winners, snapping a rough stretch that had seen them drop seven of nine.
Speaking of the Cubs, they're on the wrong end of that result, and the question now is what a successful June looks like for this club. Chicago's got the talent, Dansby Swanson and company showed flashes of it in Pittsburgh just days ago, but stringing wins together has been the challenge. The North Siders need to find some consistency before the calendar turns against them.
On the hardwood, Rhyne Howard was absolutely on fire in Atlanta. The Dream guard poured in thirty six points on eight three-pointers, torching the visiting Connecticut Sun in a ninety one to seventy five blowout. Howard is playing like one of the best guards in the WNBA right now, and the Dream look like a team nobody wants to see come playoff time.
