Welcome in, this is Sports Desk, and we've got plenty to get into right now.
Montreal is in serious trouble. The Canadiens dropped Game four to Carolina four-nothing at home, and now they're staring down elimination with multiple games left to play. Head coach Martin St. Louis is calling his squad super underdogs, and frankly, that might be generous after that kind of no-show on home ice.
Shifting to the diamond, Shohei Ohtani was absolutely dealing against Colorado, flirting with a no-hitter while facing his close friend Tomoyuki Sugano on the mound for the Rockies. Ohtani's performance also matched a Don Drysdale milestone, which puts him in some serious historical company for the Dodgers franchise. The man continues to rewrite what's possible in this game.
And in the WNBA, Shakira Austin put Washington on her back in Seattle, dropping eighteen points, thirteen rebounds, and five assists to lead the Mystics past the Storm seventy-eight to sixty-four. Michaela Onyenwere made her season debut and chipped in fourteen off the bench, giving Washington a badly needed road split after dropping three of their last four.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
