Nico Collins is getting paid. The Texans and their two-time Pro Bowl receiver reworked his deal, locking in nine million dollars in additional cash this year and another eight million next season, with both years now fully guaranteed. Houston is making it clear Collins is a cornerstone, not a question mark.
Shifting to the diamond, the Rays made a calculated move by signing veteran closer Craig Kimbrel to a major league deal. Tampa's bullpen has been a pressure point all season, and Kimbrel, despite the mileage, brings proven late-inning experience to a club that desperately needs someone to close the door when it matters most.
And on the college side, a difficult story out of Texas Tech. The NCAA has denied quarterback Brendan Sorsby's request for reinstatement ahead of the two thousand twenty six season. Sorsby recently completed inpatient treatment for a gambling addiction after placing numerous bets throughout his college career. His only remaining path back to the field now appears to run through the court system, and that fight is far from over.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
