Luka Doncic is absolutely on fire to open this NBA season. Friday night at Crypto dot com Arena, the Lakers guard dropped fifty-three points on the Portland Trail Blazers, including a jaw-dropping sixty-two foot buzzer at the half that sent the building into a frenzy. Los Angeles got their revenge win, and the MVP conversation is already heating up fast.
Staying in the NBA Cup, Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs just keep winning. The big Frenchman poured in thirty points on ten of eighteen shooting, hauled down fourteen rebounds, and San Antonio handled Sacramento one twenty-four to one oh nine for their seventh consecutive victory. This Spurs team is building something real, and Wembanyama looks every bit like the franchise cornerstone they drafted him to be.
Shifting overseas, Virat Kohli continues to silence the noise in the second ODI between India and New Zealand in Wellington. After a golden duck in his previous appearance, Kohli came out swinging, posting seventy-four runs off fifty-one balls and recording the eightieth half-century of his ODI career. The man simply does not stay down for long.
