The Florida Panthers closed out their homestand in style Wednesday night, with Sandis Vilmanis lighting the lamp twice for the first multi-goal game of his career. Sam Reinhart added a goal and two assists, Carter Verhaeghe chipped in, and Florida handled the Blackhawks five to three, pushing to four and one in their last five games.
Over in Charlotte, the Hornets got a brutal early scare when Kon Knueppel, their second-year standout and last year's Rookie of the Year runner-up, was ruled out just six minutes into his season debut with left leg soreness. That's especially alarming given Knueppel had already been dealing with a left hamstring strain coming in — the team and its fanbase holding their breath on this one.
And in New York, Jalen Brunson put on an absolute clinic, dropping twenty-two points in the first quarter alone as the Knicks dismantled the Bulls one hundred thirty-five to one hundred five. Chicago's defense ranks twenty-ninth in the league right now and the Knicks made them pay for every bit of it, winning their third straight and fourth in their last five.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
