In Ann Arbor, Michigan football is making a bold move under Kyle Whittingham, benching a quarterback carrying a twelve point five million dollar price tag in favor of Hall of Fame coach's grandson. It's a statement from a new staff that is clearly not interested in sunk costs, and the Wolverines faithful are paying close attention.
Shifting to Detroit, Jahmyr Gibbs is putting together a season that is turning heads across the entire league. The Lions running back was the engine behind Michigan's win over Minnesota in week eight of the two thousand twenty six season, keeping Detroit just one game back of the Vikings in the NFC North. The MVP conversation is no longer a stretch, it is a legitimate discussion.
And on the baseball side, the offseason is heating up fast. An insider is now linking a former Cubs standout to the Toronto Blue Jays, while the Dodgers and Mets are reportedly circling Tarik Skubal, the most coveted arm on the market. His friendship with Blake Snell may or may not sway where he lands, but every front office in baseball is watching.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
