Equities are staging a meaningful recovery today after a rough end to October. The S&P five hundred is up more than six-tenths of a percent, the Dow adding just over one percent, with chipmakers leading the charge higher in the Nasdaq. Falling crude oil prices are easing cost pressures across the board, giving bulls room to breathe after last week's selloff.
Turning to Visa, the payments giant is rewarding shareholders with a sixteen percent increase to its quarterly dividend, a signal of serious confidence from management. This comes off the back of a record revenue year in fiscal twenty twenty-six, during which the company processed two hundred eighty-one billion transactions. For income investors, that kind of dividend growth from a near eight-hundred-billion-dollar company is hard to ignore.
And a cautionary note on artificial intelligence from a credible voice — Alex Stamos, former chief security officer at Meta, is warning that handing AI agents your financial login credentials is, in his words, totally insane. As consumers increasingly deploy bots to manage bank accounts and financial platforms, Stamos says the security exposure is severe and largely underappreciated by the people taking that risk.
