Steph Curry and Luka Doncic put on an absolute show in NBA Cup action Friday night, and it did not disappoint. Doncic came out scorching, dropping twenty-one points in the first quarter alone as the Lakers jumped out to a thirty-eight to fifteen lead. Curry answered with a vintage performance, breaking Doncic's ankles on a filthy crossover before drilling the three right over him, fueling a twenty-three point Warriors comeback to tie it at fifty-three at the half. Two generational talents, zero chill.
Shifting to MotoGP, Jorge Martin is sounding the alarm on his championship hopes after withdrawing from the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. Martin suffered a distal radius fracture in a crash during the Phillip Island sprint and tried to gut through it just six days later, but the pain won. He says the title is, quote, already lost, though he plans to suit up in Qatar next week and fight for whatever he can salvage.
And on the gridiron in Indiana, Heritage Hills pulled off a statement win, knocking off number eight Reitz in the Class four-A sectional semifinal. The Patriots forced a fourth-down stop, Aiden Fischer followed with a pick, and Heritage Hills never looked back, rattling off twenty-one unanswered to put the game firmly in hand.
