You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get after it.
Oklahoma City is already playing short-handed, and now it just got worse. The Thunder lost guard Alex Caruso to a right ankle sprain during Monday night's game against Phoenix, adding another name to what is becoming a dangerously thin roster. How OKC manages this stretch could define their season early.
Shifting to the hardwood, Luka Doncic is wasting absolutely zero time making Los Angeles his city. The Lakers remain unbeaten, and Doncic has stepped into the leadership vacuum left by LeBron James with authority. Tonight they host an improving Portland Trail Blazers squad, and the question isn't whether Luka leads, it's by how much.
And in Atlanta, Bijan Robinson is doing things that running backs simply are not supposed to do in today's NFL. Nine hundred seven yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns through seven games, numbers that belong in an MVP conversation. The problem? The Falcons are not winning enough games, and history tells us the league does not hand that trophy to a skill player on a struggling team, no matter how electric the numbers look.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
