Shifting from equities to commodities, diesel is quietly becoming one of the more alarming pressure points in the macro picture. The fuel that powers trucks, trains, and tractors is approaching record highs, and analysts warn the pain for American households extends well beyond what they see at the gas pump — it's embedded in the price of nearly everything that moves.
And staying in commodities, cattle futures are taking a hit today on fresh tariff headlines. Live cattle are trading steady to two dollars and twenty five cents lower in the front months, while feeder cattle are off three dollars and fifty to three dollars and ninety cents. Cash trade last week settled between two hundred fifty six and two hundred sixty dollars, but that floor looks shaky heading into the afternoon session.
