Fabian Hurzeler is putting his Brighton squad on notice ahead of their Conference League tie against Czech side Jablonec. The manager's message is sharp and simple — don't underestimate anyone. For Jablonec, this could be the game of their lives, and Hurzeler wants his players to match that energy from the first whistle.
Meanwhile in Madrid, Thibaut Courtois is staying put. The Belgian goalkeeper confirmed after another commanding display against Leipzig that contract extension talks with Real Madrid are well advanced. Courtois has been nothing short of irreplaceable between the posts, and Los Blancos are clearly moving fast to lock him down long term.
And across the Atlantic, the New York Giants are handing the keys to J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback, but not everyone is sold. Emmanuel Acho came out swinging, questioning whether McCarthy is ready for the moment. The former linebacker's skepticism is loud and it's out there — now it falls on McCarthy to answer it on the field, not in a press conference.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
