Welcome to The Light, your quiet hour of reflection.
From Rome, a moment of relief settles over the faithful. Pope Leo the Fourteenth's physicians have confirmed that the lung tumor removed in October was localized, and that no further treatment will be necessary. In the language of medicine, those words carry a particular grace — an unexpected reprieve, a life continuing its unfinished work.
From the world of science and wonder, a writer's so-called foolish pursuit of butterflies across Denmark became something quietly profound. Chasing what others might dismiss as trivial, she found herself transformed — reminded that attention itself is a form of devotion, and that beauty does not wait to be taken seriously before it changes you.
And from a gathering of Hispanic Christian leaders, a pastor named Marco Garcia offered a gentle but urgent challenge — that good preaching and music, however beautiful, are not enough. What congregations need, he urged, is a culture of discipleship, a living web of formation woven into the ordinary hours of a person's life.
Three stories, each asking us to consider what sustains us. That is this hour's reflection. Carry the light gently.
