Good morning and welcome to Markets Desk.
Biogen is making a serious move in transplant medicine, and Wall Street is paying attention. The company is on the verge of becoming the first to win approval for a drug targeting antibody-mediated rejection, the immune response that quietly destroys transplanted kidneys. With no approved treatment currently on the market, the commercial runway here is significant, and analysts are taking notice.
Shifting to consumer prices, single-family home values have fallen between eleven and twenty-six percent across sixteen major markets, according to Wolf Street, with another thirteen cities seeing declines of nine to ten percent. The one exception is San Francisco, where AI-sector money is flooding into housing and pushing prices sharply against the national trend.
And in the restaurant sector, Wendy's has closed nearly three hundred domestic locations in a matter of months. Promotional programs are failing to drive traffic, the franchise system is contracting faster than the company projected, and there is growing concern that the brand's value proposition simply is not resonating with cost-conscious consumers in this environment.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
