The ALCS is deadlocked at one game apiece, and now Mother Nature is forcing a scheduling call in Cleveland. Game three between the Rays and the Guardians gets pushed up five hours to a one o'clock start Thursday, with rain threatening the evening window. Tampa Bay evened things up with a three to one win, and this series is very much alive heading into the middle games.
Shifting to the college game, and the conversation around Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is getting louder by the week. Larry Fitzgerald and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are among those putting his name in the conversation for the greatest college receiver in the last fifty years. Bill Connelly has been digging into where Smith's career trajectory already stacks up, and the answer is somewhere near the very top.
And in Chicago, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is moving in the right direction after returning to practice Wednesday as a full participant. Head coach Ben Johnson confirmed all three quarterbacks on the roster are dealing with something, but Williams appears on track to suit up in week six. For a Bears offense still finding its footing, getting their franchise guy back under center matters enormously.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
