Georgia came into Tuscaloosa trailing at the half and walked out with a twenty to seventeen win over Alabama, Kirby Smart's Bulldogs grinding out their sixth victory of the season in what the coach called a really extremely physical game. That's a statement win for a program with championship ambitions still very much alive.
And that result is going to shake up the College Football Playoff picture in a major way. Three top-ten SEC teams went down in Week six, and with Alabama now taking that loss, there is a new number one in the projected CFP rankings. The selection committee has some serious reshuffling to do, and the chaos at the top only makes the race more compelling from here.
Shifting to the diamond, the National League Championship Series gets underway today with Milwaukee taking on Los Angeles in what shapes up as a genuine pitching showcase. Jacob Misiorowski goes for the Brewers against Tarik Skubal, two of the most electric arms in baseball meeting on the biggest stage the league has to offer before October is done.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
